Clico emerged as a response to the growing demand for simplified yet powerful mobile banking solutions in a dynamic financial landscape. Their mission is to eliminate the frustration and complexity that traditional banking apps often create, replacing them with smooth experiences to help users control their finances regardless of location or tech expertise.
The company targets both digital natives seeking seamless financial management and established professionals who require comprehensive banking capabilities without the learning curve. With ambitious expansion plans across multiple markets, Clico needed a design system that could scale while maintaining consistency across diverse user segments and financial regulatory environments.
Clico set out to build a mobile banking app that was both highly secure and easy to use. Most banking apps focused so much on security and compliance that they became frustrating for users, leading to low adoption. Clico needed to change that—keeping top-tier security while making the experience smooth and intuitive.
Another major challenge was handling 50+ currencies. The app had to be powerful yet simple, letting users manage multiple currencies without confusion. International transfers added another layer of complexity. Behind the scenes, it required deep backend integration, but for users, it had to feel as easy as sending a text.
We started by watching users struggle with existing banking apps. Their frustrations became our roadmap. Instead of adding more features, we focused on making the essential ones work better. We asked: "How would banking feel if it was as easy as sending a text?"
Our design team created clean, uncluttered screens that guide users naturally from one task to the next. We tested early and often with real users, refining each screen based on how people actually used it, not how we thought they would. Security features were woven in seamlessly, so they protect without getting in the way.

The new Clico app hits all the right notes for users. Sign-ups jumped 40% in the first month after launch, and more importantly, people stuck around. The number of users who open the app at least three times a week went up by 65%, showing that Clico became part of their regular financial routine.
Money transfers, which used to be a major pain point, now take under 30 seconds to complete. Customer service calls about app confusion dropped by 70%, while positive app store ratings climbed to 4.8/5. Most telling was the feedback from users who called the app "refreshingly simple" and "banking that finally makes sense."
